Virginia History Day is the state affiliate of National History Day, a project-based learning program for students in grades 4-12. This interdisciplinary research project helps students develop historical thinking and literacy skills while making the study of history engaging, relevant, and most of all, fun! The 2022 VHD State Contest will be held in-person at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture on Saturday, April 23 (Elementary and Junior Divisions) and Sunday, April 24th (Senior Division). Visit the Contest Information page for more details.
Final District Five judging in preparation for the state level will be conducted at West Springfield High School on Saturday, March 5th.
