 2026 Fundraiser
GW Chapter Endowment Fund

The George Washington Chapter's Board of Managers express sincere thanks to the many members
who made the great leap forward in 2023 to help formally launch the Chapter's Endowment Fund. Nearly $45,000 was raised and added to previous funds set aside to support the Chapter's various programs. Not operating expenses, programs which include youth scholarships, Public Safety recognition awards, recognition and support of U. S. veterans, America's 250 years Anniversary commemoration events, Grave Markings, and so on.

Support the Mission

A $250 gift places one of the inaugural GW Challenge Coins
in your hands as a Thank You. (See below.)

Honoring 72 Years of Service + Strengthening the Next 72

As we mark 72 years of advancing the mission of the George Washington Chapter we enter this America 250 year with renewed purpose. Our 2026 Endowment Fund Fundraiser is a call to strengthen the legacy entrusted to us and ensure our Chapter remains a vibrant force for patriotism, education, and community service. Growing our Endowment Fund is essential to sustaining and expanding the programs that define our Chapter.

Why Your Support Matters

Your generosity fuels the initiatives that reflect the heart of our mission: recognizing public safety heroes and veterans, awarding student scholarships, supporting scouting and JROTC, and preserving historic gravesites. Every contribution directly strengthens these efforts.

A Grateful Salute to Our Supporters

The GW SAR Board of Managers extends sincere thanks to all who supported our previous Endowment Fund Fundraisers. Your commitment has brought us closer to long term sustainability. If you’ve given before, we invite you to deepen your impact in this historic anniversary year. If you’re joining us for the first time, welcome; your support truly matters.

Together, We Make It Possible

Be a champion for veterans past and present, education, public service, and historical preservation. Your donation to this Fundraiser strengthens the Chapter’s ability to serve with honor and purpose.

(Do you prefer to mail a check? Please make it payable to “George Washington Chapter Virginia SAR” and eMail GW Chapter Treasurer, Marty Johnson to make mailing arrangements. Marty’s eMail address is: mjvt49@gmail.com.)

2026 Endowment Fund Fundraiser Goal

Goal: $25,000.00
Collected: $250.00
1%

The Facts

Our goal of a $100,000 Endowment Fund balance is within reach! We are three-quarters of the way there, which is close enough to see the finish line, but not yet close enough to cross it.

In the Endowment Fund, established in 2023, up to 5%, per the Board of Managers decision, is withdrawn annually to offset Program expenses, ensuring lasting impact. To fully sustain these programs, the Fund must continue to grow.

The Opportunity

Our 2026 Endowment Fund Fundraiser goal is $25,000. This is an America 250 challenge, a moment that comes once in a generation. Together, we can meet it and strengthen the legacy we proudly uphold.

Every contribution - large or small - directly strengthens the programs that define who we are and what we stand for. Again, if you have given in past years, we invite you to consider increasing your gift in honor of this historic anniversary. If you are joining our fundraising efforts for the first time, welcome! Everyone’s support matters.

As a special gift, for each contribution of $250 or more you will receive our first-ever George Washington Chapter challenge coin.

Please Join us. Support the mission. Strengthen the legacy.

Thank you for your support!
