Since April 2, 1954 the George Washington Chapter in Alexandria, Virginia has treasured the opportunity to rally its members to support its mission, much as our patriotic ancestors rallied together to support their country's fight for liberty. Many hours of volunteer time and energy are devoted to producing events that remember and honor those who fought for their families, their neighbors and for their descendants. Yet, in order to not only maintain the Chapter, a very active chapter with the largest membership in the Virginia state SAR society, but also to expand its services to members and the community, additional financial support is necessary. Annual dues and volunteer hours are not enough to keep up the good work. That is just a fact of life. Online credit card donations are greatly appreciated and easily processed. | 2024 Spring Fundraiser (May 27 - June 19) The 2024 Spring Fundraiser contributions received during this fundraising drive will be added to the George Washington Chapter Endowment Fund. The fund was established to provide a long-term revenue stream underwriting, in part, the costs of Chapter programs such as history essay contest and history oration contest scholarships, scouting programs, JROTC programs, public service awards, grave marking ceremonies, veterans recognition and support and membership outreach programs. |
| 2024 Fall Fundraiser (October 1 - November 30*) In order to execute the Chapter's program and educational committees such as Grave Marking, Public Service and Heroism, JROTC, America 250, etc. operational functions are necessary, to maintain the member management system, host and update this website including the calendar of events, digitally publish the Chapter Newsletter, process correspondence to both members and to various individual groups, account for dues receipts and business expenditures, Chapter meetings, etc. Please support this year's Fall Fundraiser by clicking here. |

The 2024 National Wreaths Across America Day is December 14th but supporting Wreaths Across America is a year-round opportunity because to "Remember the fallen, Honor those who served, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom" requires ongoing commitment.
