    • Provides sources where you can because they’ll assist future researchers
    • Notes immediate family as well as interesting “life events” before and after the Rev War
    • Final step – submit you sourced biography utilizing the Patriot Graves and Biography Report

  • Open your Ancestry Tree and find the Patriot in Tree view
  • Click on your Patriot and view their record in Profile mode
  • Use “Add web link” in Ancestry Sources column to post the PRS link under “Web links”

Become a PRS volunteer and support expansion of the PRS database

  • Work on Chapter level projects to ensure all Chapter connected Patriots are fully documented
  • Transcribe data from Mike Lyman’s book – Rev War Patriots Buried in VA – into the PRS database
  • Ensure Compatriot applications have been accurately transcribed in the PRS database

If this is of interest to you, please send you name, chapter, and NSSAR # to patriotgraves@sar.org

A key part of making the PRS a success is to upload existing, approved lineages. (The NSSAR approved Record Copy (RC) members received when they first joined the Society.) An RC details the SAR Compatriot’s lineage to their Rev War patriot or Rev War supporter as well as significant information about each patriot or supporter.

Efforts are underway in several State NSSAR Societies to organize teams of volunteers to enter RC information.  We are joining these efforts with the immediate goal of entering the RC information for each of our GWSAR members.

If you are interested in joining us in this highly rewarding and worthwhile effort, please contact Jamie Callender.
